finally done

Few weeks ago I had posted about restoring plant stand.   This took more time than I anticipated and lot of hard work too.  My friend has had this stand for over 10 years and it was rusted and paint was peeling of in places.  She was going to throw that away and I said I will take it.  Little did I know how hard it is to strip the paint.   My husband did help varnish the wood steps and fix them to the stand.  Big thank you to whole family for helping me strip the paint.  Here is the stand all finished. Here is to one summer project ......

First attempt at Warli painting

My younger daughter and myself decided to try our hand at Warli painting.  I am not a painter nor can I draw.  This is my very first attempt at it.  We took inspiration from July carnival @ the Key bunch
This is how my painting looks like:

Things I would like to own one day

I was browsing through the HGTV website and landed on this link

One particular design caught my eye.  The antique door.  I am also looking for an antique door for my puja room here.  I haven't found "the one"

This is exquisite though

Typically, puja room doors are not complete solid enclosed doors.  They have carved solid panels at the bottom and open spaces between carvings at the top.  I really would like such door panels for our house.  I did find one such door in LA but it was already sold.

Oh well, one thing at a time.  Like my better half often reminds me lovingly,  I need to take on one project at a time.

Happy July 4th

My weekend project is turned into a month long project.  Things never lined up so to say.  This weekend was very hot at Los Angeles.  Also, I decided to help my husband plant some plants in the back yard.  We picked up dwarf pomagranate and white guava fruit trees.  I gad two Indans jasmine plants at hand.  We planted them in the new planters we had got done.  we also built a arbor to install in the corner of the backyard.  I will post pictures tomorrow.

I am progressing on the planter but not a the pace I would like.

Have a nice weel y'all.
