Visit to Flower Fields - A garden tour

I hope your week got started on a good note.  I had a very productive weekend.  As the weather was good, I cleaned up both front and the back yard. They were screaming for attention as I had not paid much attention as we had really weird warm weather.

Today I am taking you on a tour of the Flower Fields of Carlsbad, CA.

We have been planning to visit this place for a few years now.  Our work schedules, Kids school and extra activities schedules never allowed us to visit this place though we have passed by this place several times.  This year we finally made it  but we should have gone there couple of weeks earlier as you can see in the picture below season was coming to an end and never the less it was still a visual feast.

Have you been wondering what these flowers are?  They are Ranunculus also known as Buttercups.    These flowers occupy 50 acres.  So you will see colors as far as the eye can see.  One part of the fields over looks the ocean.

Do you see how many layers of petals these flowers have.  They make beautiful cut flowers that can be used in flower arrangements.

They also have Artist garden.

It also houses a greenhouse for world famous poinsettia

They also have rose garden.  I wasn't impressed by the rose collection.  I thought I have a better rose garden in my front yard.    They have a beautiful Cymbidium green house.

We had a refreshing relaxing day there.

I hope you enjoyed these picture tour of the flower fields.
